At Waterside Academy, we believe in the importance of Physical Education (PE) in promoting long-term health and wellbeing. Our PE curriculum is designed to engage, challenge, and inspire students, helping them reach their full potential in both physical and personal development. We aim to instil a love for physical activity that extends beyond the classroom, encouraging students to lead active, healthy lives.
Our key aims include promoting active lifestyles, where students learn the physical and mental health benefits of regular exercise. The curriculum focusses on developing a wide range of skills across different sports, helping students improve their technical abilities and teamwork. We also prioritise knowledge of sport, teaching students the rules, strategies, and value of fitness for long-term health.
Through PE, students build social and emotional wellbeing, developing confidence, resilience, and leadership qualities. We offer both competitive and non-competitive opportunities, empowering students to pursue their passion for physical education throughout their academic journey.
